JOB SUMMARY: The candidate selected for the role of case manager will be responsible for the direct supervision and case management of all residents assigned to the Floyd County Work Release Program (WRC). MAJOR DUTIES: The chosen candidate must have direct experience in Community Correction Programs, Employment Coordination, and the collection of revenue produce by residents of similar programs. The selected candidate must also present himself in a professional manner, be well versed in work release policy, and serve as the primary liaison between the community, the courts, and the WRC. The selected candidate must also have the adequate experience in dealing directly with the courts, Probation offices in the surrounding area, and be familiar with employer and program relations. It is essential that the selected candidate have POST Certified Correctional Officer status and have had prior experience in the apprehension of escaped offenders. Additional duties will include but are not limited to: work site visits, administering random drug screens, employment verification, supervision of Work Release Center Employees and residents, oversee intake of all new residents, participation in the various management functions related to both the WRC and the prison, assist in the training of new personnel, supervise and implement procedures concerning rehabilitation programs for residents, update and maintain all files related to assigned residents, and other related duties deemed necessary by the administration. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required; Ten years experience as a correctional officer, five of which must be in a Community Corrections Program. Candidate’s experience as a correctional officer must include at least three years of experience in a supervisory/management capacity. Must possess documented Post Secondary management training. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must be P.O.S.T. Basic Correctional Officer Training certified. Must be certified in basic first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Must be Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified as a law enforcement officer. Must be licensed and qualified to operate a firearm.
